The minimalist design of this game was so effective at creating the narrative. You never once know what Florence and Krish are actually arguing about, but, deep down, you absolutely know. It’s the same fight we’ve all had with ex-partners, and that “filling in the blanks” we’re doing while playing is what leaves the most impact when you’re done playing.
Nobody will love you until you love yourself. “This statement is wrong and untrue on all accounts, but is another showcase of the difficulty of love — the way we love ourselves is often indicative of how we love others, but not always.” It’s this kind of sentiment, and the fact that we can come to this kind of understanding from playing a game, that makes gaming such an important discourse in society.
