As a guy who primarily plays "soft" games (Animal Crossing, Stardew Valley, Ooblets, Night in the Woods), I think the whole idea of genderizing (is that a word?) games is so silly and outdated.
I like games about animals cause it's like a warm blanket, and other times I cut off someone's head with a katana in Cyberpunk and feel completely badass. Who cares what your gender is?
I loved hearing your perspective on this, though. I always think it's interesting when people are like "ha ha girl only plays Wii" when the Wii is... what, fourteen years old now? And we have plenty of amazing female-led games like Tomb Raider, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Hellblade, and I don't know literally any game where you can design your character.
